Winter winds what is it about

Afletch14 on October 02, Cbrooks, I totaly agree with your statement about this being a song relating to being single for a long time. I listened it to today, and all the words just hit me with such meaning. And your analogy of the song is spot on to what i was thinking, it is actually annoying to find so many people find this song is about breaking up or cheating.

I was in this situation just the other night, meeting a girl but not knowing whether it was desperation or an actual feelings, and i reiterate that the feeling coming from the singer truly bring out the meaning of being single for a while whilst meeting somebody your not sure is good for you, particularly at this time of year. My Interpretation I love this song a lot. It's about a guy who gets into a relationship because he doesn't want to be alone through the winter, but as much as he wants to he can't fall in love with the girl.

I really like her a lot, but somehow my head still stops me to get as involved as I would like myself to be. The normal conflict in your mind, or as in the song, between head and heart. The head says, that to get over being hurt you need to find something else that makes you happy. But even when you find it, your heart is still hurt and doesn't allow itself to get into that stage where it is vulnerable again.

You try to stay strong, even you know you might lose something good again because of it General Comment This song reminds me of one specific girl, an ex of mine. She was my first real love, it lasted a few years through high school before we went our separate ways. Then a few years later, we gave it another shot. Even though everything about the relationship made sense, my heart said no.

The second attempt was a failure before it even really got started just because of the possibility of the same heart break as before. SO on June 21, Link. General Comment A little sickly, but my favourite song on the album nonetheless. The meaning seems a bit obvious to me, the 'winter' in this song is a metaphor for loneliness. The final verse is then the realisation that whilst loneliness and bad times can seem scary, ultimately they do end, and with this realisation it goes back into the chorus, of how he knows that he will never love this person, even though, as his head is telling him, it would probably be the best thing to do.

The chorus is actually saying the opposite, his head is telling to "let love grow" while his heart is trying to let him fall in love quickly out of his fear of being alone. General Comment I think this is about finding that ideal person that you've always imagined to be "perfect" in your mind. They are everything you thought you'd look for in a person in your head, but in your heart you just don't feel for this person.

General Comment I think this song is about struggling with a divorce. The man wants to stay with his wife because he once loved her, but they are now in the winter of their relationship.

He wishes to break things off cleanly and without letting the relationship turn sour and towards malice. Even though in his head he wants to give it another chance, his heart is telling him no because he wants to leave a legacy of a loving relationship to his children So let the memories be good for those who stay , and he knows in his heart that their time together has come and gone and to stay in it too much longer would cause too much pain.

My Interpretation I always see this song as being about a guy who's recently gone through a nasty break-up that was at least partly his own fault and it's left him full of regret and broken his heart, and caused his to jump into a new relationship on the rebound, with someone who is in love with him, and who seems perfectly suited to him in theory.

I think it is a priest who has left the priesthood, and the winter is the chill he is experiencing. He is having a hard time in life and found a woman to sex up for the night not dirty, rather 2 folks trying to comfort each other Chorus: His head says let love grow Everybody dies eventually so do what you can for joy in the moment. Chorus Christian guilt about sex If you feel bad and guilty and cannot sleep, remember that the seasons change and if you let go of guilt then this will be a fond memory, not something chewing you up inside.

I think it's about a man who's tired of his lonely existence-'the cold', who wants to fall in love but can't because he doesn't really feel it. Does anyone have idea of what this part means: "Oh the shame that sent me off from the God that I once loved Was the same that sent me into your arms"? Login Register Login with Facebook.
