Why is toolstation so cheap

Just a satisfied customer. Calpol Established Member. I have to say though that the new Toolstation advert is possibly the worst thing I've ever witnessed on television. Even worse than those Meerkat adverts and they are very bad. Calpol":jy1wbxk8 said:. RogerS Established Member. Calpol":wdfxpqao said:. OPJ Established Member.

Another fan of Toolstation, here. I try to use them over Screwfix where possible. They often seem to work out cheaper too, even if they're range isn't quite as grand. I'm glad they've reduced the size of the their catalogues too. RogerS"mhg said:. Calpol"mhg said:. The Screwfix trade counter here at Chichester must be the odd one out. The staff are friendly and helpful and attentive - the last two times I've been in they have a member of staff with the catalogues offering help and advice to find the required products.

The staff at the order desk have also phoned to see when things will be available. Joined 16 Sep Messages Reaction score 0 Location scotland. But there is no "anti competition" clause in the sale, so he starts up Toolstation.

No difference in the actual gear itself IMHO. TooLateForAName 4, posts months. Their web site will let you check stock at local branches and you can arrange for an order of stuff to go to a branch rather than your house, both of which are pretty useful options. Screwfix has a much wider range but you can never get a full house when you order — most particularly with screws and fixings ironically. Toolstation has a narrower range and usually have everything in stock but…. Toolstation is cheaper but i found my self sendin alot of it back. I only order from toolstation now if its clear what brand in getting.

Silverline may well have a lifetime guarentee but i reckon the guy who came in with a 5lb sledge with the head snapped off the shaft was not looking for a replacement or the laser level that the optics fell out of or the comedy ratchet that disintegrated… Its woeful stuff well to be fair the carpenters pencils work OK , The guy in my local shop tries not to laugh when he suggets thier products.

IMO of course and it is cheap but to be honest do you want to be returning tools everytime you break them? But, lots of stuff at TS is not exact like-for-like with SF and the quality often inferior. Their sales are often very good and reserve and collect a big plus. I recently stocked up on diamond wheels for cutting composites as they were reduced to a ridiculous price. Not even through my 1st one yet though. Oh and silverline….
